To provide a safe and caring environment for homeless animals in Whitfield County, GA. To promote the importance of spaying/neutering and veterinary care for all animals. To find loving forever homes for each and every animal that enters House of Paws.
Mamaw (Bettye Clifton) always said that you could tell a lot about a person by how they treat God’s creatures. How you treat animals is a direct reflection of a persons character.
We believe that to be true. Growing up with a love of animals and big hearts our family feels the calling and need to help cats in Whitfield County that have been abandoned and neglected.
It's good for our community, it's good for the animals and it's good for you. Our community is full of unwanted, abandoned animals and animal shelters and rescues are overfull / maxed out. The only way to slow down the overpopulation of unwanted animals is to spay/neuter. Animals that are spayed/neutered live longer healthier lives. They are less likely to spray/mark their territory and they are often less temperamental. Resulting in a better behaved and usually more affectionate companion.
Please reach us at info@houseofpawsdalton.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.
All of our dog/cats are up to date on all vetting before they are available to be adopted to insure that they are as healthy as possible. Each animal has been spayed/neutered, tested (heartworm test for dogs, combo FVRCP and FeLV for cats), rabies and appropriate vaccines required.
Our adoption fee is based on our vet expense. This does not include the daily care that we provide. Our goal is to keep the adoption fee reasonable with the hope we get approved for grants or donations/sponsorships to cover the additional expenses. **When you adopt from us you are not only adding to your family you are helping the next animal that needs rescuing.
We try to help as many animals as possible, but we have limited space and resources. If you need to surrender your pet, please contact us to discuss your options. We will do our best to help your pet find a new home.
If you can't adopt please consider making a donation. Your donation will make a difference in the lives of our furry friends and help us continue our mission to help the animals. All donations are tax deductible and we will gladly give you a tax receipt.
